Case study 07 · Electrical Panels · Quotation portal

A 113,000-part catalogue and every quotation in one portal — sent on WhatsApp from their own number.

Aditya Electric builds transformers, control panels, APFC panels and stabilizers in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, and sells through direct enquiries and marketplaces alike. A quotation means picking hundreds of components across dozens of makes, pricing them, and producing a document the buyer can decide on.

We built Aditya Panel Studio: the full vendor catalogue with live prices, a bill of materials per feeder, costing for panels, APFC banks and stabilizers, a numbered quotation series, follow-ups, and the finished PDF sent to the buyer on WhatsApp from Aditya's own business number.

01

A live catalogue of 113,399 products across 58 vendors, with compare-across-makes and discount handling.

02

Bill of materials by feeder — incomer and outgoing slots filled from reusable templates, never re-typed.

03

Landed cost, busbar and fabrication calculations, then quote assembly to Excel and Word.

04

Panels are quoted, APFC banks are costed stage by stage in Kvar, stabilizers are products with their own output-voltage standard.

05

A gapless quotation series (AE/26-27/001 onwards) with revisions that keep the number.

06

Follow-ups with the order-confirmed amount, PO number and PO date recorded on the quotation instead of written on the printout.

07

Five stamped dates per job, so the dashboard reads where every enquiry stands from what actually happened.

08

Enquiry source and lost-reason on every job — direct, marketplace or referral.

09

Documents show the buyer what they are deciding, never how Aditya builds or costs it.

10

The PDF sent on WhatsApp from Aditya's own number, with Delivered and Opened shown in the portal.

01 — The challenge

A hundred thousand prices, three months out of date.

Panel quoting lives or dies on the vendor catalogue. Aditya's ran to a hundred thousand components, and when we reconciled it against the vendors' current lists, 29,527 prices had drifted — a median rise of 15 percent. Forty-five products on four live quotations had been under-priced without anyone knowing.

Around the catalogue sat the usual paper: a PO number written onto the printout by hand, the order value in somebody's head, and follow-ups that depended on memory.

02 — What we built

The catalogue, the BOM, the quotation and the follow-up in one place.

The portal started in June 2026 with the catalogue and a compare-across-makes screen, then grew with the business: feeder templates so a repeat panel is filled in seconds, APFC and stabilizer costing that know their own rules, a quotation series that never skips a number, and a dashboard that reads each job's stage from the dates the portal stamps itself.

The last mile was the one the owner asked for on WhatsApp: send the quotation to the buyer on WhatsApp, from Aditya's own number, without saving and forwarding. It shipped the same day, with Delivered and Opened shown on the follow-up.

03 — The results

Two dozen live quotations, and a catalogue that stays honest.

Within weeks of the series going live the portal had issued 24 numbered quotations to real buyers. The reconciliation that found the drift now runs as a logged process: 29,568 price changes recorded, so the next quotation is priced on today's list, not last quarter's.

The portal has grown through 357 commits and 60 schema migrations in three months, most of them shipped the day they were asked for. It has also become the reference design for PanelDesk, our panel-design product for other builders.
